The Marketplace

Today at the city farmers markets got me thinking how interesting the food market is. It's something we all need that has been around since the dawn of time... bargaining and trading in different ways, varying from culture to culture. Here's some markets from around the globe.

Health

Sorry to get serious on you all, but recently I've been dealing with something. Let's all put our nice grown up girl façades on when I say this: I found a lump in my breast. It was about 5 days of panic, shutting everyone out and thinking of the very worst possible situations until I could finally go to the doctor, radiology clinic then doctor again to find out I have a rather harmless cyst in my left titty.
During this 5 day period of thinking I realised how insignificant all of my other problems were. I always think this when something goes wrong, like, what I would give just to have my 'normal' problems: self-consciousness, money, uni, etcetera, instead of this new one. So my message is really, take a step back and do the things you love and look after your health because it's true what they say: if you don't have your health you don't have anything.

Sunglasses Heaven

I have never been a sunglasses sort of girl. The first pair I ever bought were far to large for my face and made look like an alien from some terrible black and white sci-fi movie from the fifties. Since then I never really found any that would suit me. You can imagine my suprise when I walked into sportsgirl and found some beautiful fifties style glasses. It seems that in sunglasses, there is a new fifties style trend. I cannot wait to buy some!

Wuthering Heights

Must admit, I took me three attempts to read 'Wuthering Heights' by Emily Bronte and I cannot say it is a favourite book of mine. But, saying this the trailer for the new movie looks so beautiful and broody.

John Lewis Advert

I'm loving this TV advert, the different eras, clothing and expressions comes together beautifully.

Meadham Kirchhoff

The delectable Meadham Kirchhoff collection, as snapped by the wonderfully talented Shini at Park and Cube, with "flowers stuffed under the peplum, stamped-wafer fabric, ribbons atop ribbons, bead-crusted nails… it’s like they stood a cherubim-haired doll on a rotating stool and constructed each look. Another MK specialty, the walk & performance – the music was a sweet tinkling melody of a merry-go-round, which suited the round Topshop catwalk space rather perfectly, but instead of doing a circle, the girls weaved in and out of the decorated partitions picking up bits of flowers and then dropping them halfway down the catwalk." Uber creative, I have to say.

Have a Frenchy day!

Summer Loving

Summer is approaching fast and so to are the new swimwear styles hitting the stores. Rather than the bikini being the swimwear of choice this summer it looks like the one piece is a must have in the 2013 summer wardrobe.
